colorful silk's spaceMay 19 Open window, closed window?Daniel and his two cousins boarded a small ferry. Little Jedi found a seat next to an open window. The ferry was fast, sitting by an open window was such a joy. Little Jedi was so proud; he bragged to Daniel, "Hey, Daniel, got an open window?" Daniel looked around; unfortunately, there were not very many seats next to an open window, and of course they were all taken. He did not want to admit that he was a little envy, “Hey, Jedi, got a closed window? At least you won't get blown away!"
April 16 Leader of the gameAfter dinner, Daniel and mom were playing a game per Daniel's request. He set up and then changed all the rules according to the situation, decided who won. Guess who won all the time. Mom would like to win once a while, so she protested of course. "Because I am the boss of the game, " Daniel explained. "I already have a boss at work, I do not want another one, " Mom complained. "Ok, may be I don't want to be the boss anymore." Mom was surprised to see Daniel gave up so easily. She was happy  , hey, may be she could win or at least set up the rule. Then she heard Daniel claim "I am the leader of the game."  December 11 Is Christmas the day after Thanksgiving?For the past two years, Santa has been visiting our house on Christmas Eve and leaving presents underneath the Christmas tree for Daniel. This year, Daniel is really looking forward to Santa's visit again.
We set up the Christmas tree again on Thanksgiving. Daniel hanged out around the Christmas tree the whole evening. Mommy told him it was too early for Santa to come, so he went to bed a little disappointed. The next morning, he woke up early with an unusual big smile, then he said to mommy hopefully "let me go down stairs and see if there is any present underneath the tree."
September 22 CommentThe road was a little bumpy, Daniel sat in the back commented, "Mommy, the whole world is shaking!" June 27 God doesn't have a pencil sharpenerDaniel came over and asked mom if he could borrow her pencil sharpener. Of course mom said yes, and handed him hers, then she remembered that she just gave one to him a few days ago. He must have lost it or broken it again, she thought. "What happened to the one I just gave you?" she asked. To her surprise, Daniel responded "it's in heaven.” What? In heaven? That is something new. He must have broken it, mom concluded it. It is time to give him another speech about not to break things now. "How did it get to heaven?" mom calmly started her lecture. Instead of saying I broke it, Daniel answered "God took it." "What? Why?" mom was stunned. "Because He doesn't have one.” Daniel replied sincerely.
June 10 Get sickMommy and dady are trying to help Daniel establish a hand washing habit. However, after so long, Daniel still hates to wash his hands. He has learnt how to eat without touching the food. One day, dady found a book at the local library. The book talks about a group of students washing hands and how to get rid of germs. So mommy and dady use the Franks brothers from the book as a bad example: "if you don't wash your hands, you would get sick just like Franks brothers did. " It worked for a few time. However, Daniel still got sick one morning, he did not want to eat or play. Mommy had to take a day off and stay with him all day, however, Daniel enjoyed the day staying home with mommy.
One day before dinner, Daniel refused to wash his hands again. Mommy said: "don't you remember? You got sick last week because you did not wash your hands. What if you get sick again?" Daniel put on a big smile and replied happily: "Then you could stay home and check on me". |
